Jess (she/her/hers) joined the Trexler Library in 2017 as the teaching librarian to the social sciences. She is passionate about critical information literacy, engaged pedagogy, and relationship building as an avenue for increasing knowledge, equity, and dignity. In addition to her teaching responsibilities, she remains up-to-date on assessment and outreach scholarship within librarianship and often holds leadership roles in these areas of work within the library.
Jess earned her BA in English and Computer Science at Temple University. She went on to receive an MLIS at Drexel University where she concentrated her studies in Competitive Intelligence and Knowledge Management.
Her current research includes investigations into the intersections of metacognition and information literacy and the impact of restorative education in the community with incarcerated individuals.
She is an active member of the Delaware Valley Chapter of the Association of College and Research Libraries, where she served as president from 2018-2019.
